When the battery is charged and the demand for power is low, the energy stored in the battery set is used to supply the load. When the battery runs low or the load increases, the generator is automatically started to supply additional power to the load and it recharges the batteries. The entire process results in improved fuel economy, lower carbon emissions, fewer running hours on the generating set, and longer working life for the generator itself with reduced servicing costs. The unit can be programmed to operate on battery power only, producing zero noise for job sites with nighttime noise restrictions.

MBE units are a more efficient, more robust and more resilient solution while being both easy to use and easy to integrate with existing mobile generators. MBE can also be fully charged and then used on its own for short-term or low-power periods, eliminating the need for a generator. These units can also provide power during peak loading, enabling it to be paired with a smaller diesel generator. Big rental companies today are facing a problem: they must purchase many different models each of which must respond to a specific need. For example, some customers will ask for a full-battery model because they need total silence and zero carbon emission; some others will need the power of a generator-driven model; in recent years, thanks to the increasingly elevated environmental consciousness across the planet, many customers are looking for a hybrid solution or even lighting towers 100% driven via solar panels. Rental companies, if they wanted to follow this trend, would have to invest a lot of money and time in the purchase and management of heterogeneous and very different Lighting Tower fleets and therefore, however, a great part of the stock could remain on the ground, with lower rotation, creating serious difficulties in the planning of purchases and a longer return of investment.

The new Power Jet joins the DF (Dust Fighter) product line, a series of dust suppression units designed to control and reduce dust and particulate matters, in many different environments and applications, such as mines, quarries, demolition sites, and crushing plants.

Generac Mobile^® has responded to the market’s call for a portable dust control unit, with compact dimensions and a simple manual control panel that allows any operator to easily set up and operate the machine in just a few minutes, perfect for rental and mobile activities. Power Jet is in fact equipped with an integrated high-pressure pump, able to increase the water pressure up to 75 bar. This allows the unit’s nozzles to spray a high-pressure flow of fine mist capable of capturing and breaking down dust particles up to 30 meters!

The power needed to operate the pump is provided by an integrated 6.2 kW single-phase diesel generator, driven by a powerful and compact Yanmar L100V6 engine (Stage V), energy-saving, air-cooled. The new Power Jet has been designed and developed with a built-in off-road portable trolley with two massive wheels and two ergonomic handles that, thanks to the lightweight of the machine, makes the Power Jet easily repositionable anywhere by a single operator.

CUBE PRO can operate in “full electric” mode for more than 7 hours in a row thanks to the built-in battery pack. With this type of power supply, CUBE PRO is 100% eco-sustainable: it does not emit CO₂ and is completely silent, thus eliminating not only air pollution, but also noise pollution. Once discharged, the batteries can be recharged by connecting the lighting tower to the power grid, to a generating est or by using the backup generator inside the lighting tower itself. The “full electric” power mode is recommended for applications where total silence is required, for example during a concert, or where a total absence of exhaust gases is required.

CUBE PRO can be set to Hybrid mode: it uses the power of the engine to keep on the lamps and simultaneously charge the battery pack. When batteries are charged, the system automatically turns off the engine and allows the battery pack to control the lamps directly: this combination reduces fuel consumption by 50% up to 0.4l/h. When the batteries are flat, the system makes the engine repeating the cycle again in autonomy. There will never be any service interruption, for this reason our Hybrid system is suitable for applications where a very long autonomy is required: in fact, thanks to the large fuel reservoir, CUBE PRO once set in Hybrid mode is able to carry out dozens of charge and discharge cycles of the battery pack without the need for refueling, guaranteeing more than 400 hours of uninterrupted lighting.

As a third option, CUBE PRO can be powered exclusively by the integrated diesel engine: Kubota Z482. This two-cylinder engine is the quietest in its category and has low fuel consumption, so you can have the lowest possible carbon footprint with the guarantee of reliability of the famous Kubota brand.

The three types of power supplies can also be combined with a darkness sensor and one or more programmable timers directly from the Generac Mobile^® digital control panel. These options ensure that CUBE PRO is automatically switched on and off depending on ambient light conditions or at set times, without any manual intervention. In addition to saving time and staff to manage the lighting tower, this also guarantees a considerable extension of the lighting tower’s autonomy, as it will remain on only when necessary.

CUBE PRO, so it’s all this, in a single Lighting Tower, the only case in the whole industry. Just to give an example: a Rental Company may have customers who need a completely silent lighting tower, or a model with a very long autonomy or maybe a 100% battery driven model; others may need a lighting tower that can provide 360-degree illumination aka all-round light, or a model equipped with traditional frontal headlights (180-degree concentrated beam) but and sometimes, with anti-glare lenses, perhaps for aeronautical use. Using a laptop, tablet or smart phone, the Trackunit^® device allows hirers to monitor fuel levels and track the location of Generac Mobile^® tower lights with live GPS. Hirers can also set alarms when units are moved outside of a designated area for improved security across multiple sites.

Notifications and daily reports can be generated when service intervals are required helping to protect hire assets for longer and enhance aftersales services to generate additional revenue streams.

Digitalization and Industry 4.0 has been enabled by blending manufacturing and industrial practices with technology.
